This research was conducted to explain the characteristics of strategic jobs in the Iran Gas Company, using a mixed-method approach. Initially, qualitative research was carried out through interviews with 21 scientific and executive experts, which were analyzed using thematic analysis. Also, in the quantitative section, by using the Best-Worst multi-criteria decision-making method, the importance of these characteristics was determined. The results indicated that the characteristics of strategic jobs in the Iran Gas Company include five indicators: job versatility, high knowledge and experience, high job responsibility, creation of competitive advantage, and resource protection. The results from the quantitative part revealed that among the indicators, high knowledge and experience, creation of competitive advantage, and preservation of resources have the highest importance. Among the sub-indices, the role of monitoring and control, the impact on the organization's capabilities, and highly specialized knowledge were deemed of the highest importance.
