In this research, the static nonlinear constrained optimization method has been used to examine two scenarios of pressure boosting in the sea and pressure boosting on land in the South Pars gas field to determine the optimal scenario. The examination of these two scenarios shows that the pressure boosting scenario in the sea is the preferred scenario for the employer due to the longer plateau production level and cumulative production. The pressure boosting scenario on land is also more desirable for the contractor due to the higher expected profit. Therefore, due to the difference in the optimal state for the employer and the contractor, the contractor lacks sufficient motivation to invest in the optimal pressure boosting scenario for the government; thus, three proposals were made to increase the expected profit of the contractor in the sea pressure boosting scenario compared to the land pressure boosting scenario, and the expected profit of each for the government was calculated.
