Abstract: (19 Views)
The establishment of strategic relations with the Russian Federation has long occupied the minds of decision-makers and researchers in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. A key question for observers of the foreign policies of both the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation is whether the formation of a strategic relationship between the two countries can be expected. The findings of this study indicate that Iran and Russia can seriously hope to develop strategic relations. Achieving this will require attention to certain methodological principles as well as the intelligence of relevant institutions in the Islamic Republic of Iran. In this regard, examining the policies and perspectives of Russian leaders on the development of strategic relations shows that the Islamic Republic of Iran must seriously and operationally prioritize the development of informal and personal relations in its agenda. Given the extensive capacities of both countries in the fields of oil, gas, and nuclear energy, formulating a strategic relationship in this area can bring significant mutual benefits for both sides. This article, based on a futurology approach and using the case study method, examines the depth and future of relations between Iran and Russia.
