The aim of this paper was to design and validate the oil and gas value chain pathology model with a mixed approach. For this purpose, first a preliminary model was presented and then the final model of oil and gas value chain pathology with a mixed approach was validated and presented. This study is an applied-developmental research in terms of purpose and in terms of method and time period of data collection, is in the category of cross-sectional research. Also, because both quantitative and qualitative methods have been used, a research is mixed. The statistical population of this study in the qualitative stage includes experienced professors and experts of the oil company, which was purposefully selected from the perspective of 17 people. Also, in a small part, the views of 400 employees of the oil company were used. In this paper, content analysis method has been used to identify oil and gas value chain injuries. The partial least squares method has been used to validate the model. Data analysis was performed with MaxQDA and Smart PLS software. The results show that policy weaknesses, management weaknesses, technical-engineering weaknesses as well as environmental challenges are the most important damages in the country's oil and gas value chain. Indicators have also been identified for each of the four challenges mentioned above.
