Designing a commercialization model for projects in research and technology of the National Iranian Oil Company

Abstract:‌‌‌‌ The‌‌‌‌ approach‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ scientific‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ technological‌‌‌‌ organizations‌‌‌‌ to‌‌‌‌ solve‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ challenges‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ industry‌‌‌‌ using‌‌‌‌ technological‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ innovative‌‌‌‌ methods‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ commercialization‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ economization‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ research‌‌‌‌ has‌‌‌‌ led;‌‌‌‌ Achieving‌‌‌‌ this‌‌‌‌ requires‌‌‌‌ a‌‌‌‌ comprehensive‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ forward-looking‌‌‌‌ perspective‌‌‌‌ in‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ field‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ research,‌‌‌‌ planning,‌‌‌‌ policy-making‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ implementation‌‌‌‌.‌‌‌‌ In‌‌‌‌ order‌‌‌‌ to‌‌‌‌ create‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ necessary‌‌‌‌ integration‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ coordination‌‌‌‌ between‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ processes‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ activities‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ technology‌‌‌‌ development‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ commercialization,‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ to‌‌‌‌ enhance‌‌‌‌ its‌‌‌‌ success,‌‌‌‌ having‌‌‌‌ a‌‌‌‌ technology‌‌‌‌ development‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ commercialization‌‌‌‌ model‌‌‌‌ is‌‌‌‌ necessary‌‌‌‌.‌‌‌‌ Therefore,‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ main‌‌‌‌ purpose‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ this‌‌‌‌ research‌‌‌‌ is‌‌‌‌ to‌‌‌‌ provide‌‌‌‌ a‌‌‌‌ model‌‌‌‌ to‌‌‌‌ explain‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ commercialization‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ technology‌‌‌‌ projects‌‌‌‌ in‌‌‌‌ research‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ technology‌‌‌‌ organizations‌‌‌‌ to‌‌‌‌ increase‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ success‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ technology‌‌‌‌ commercialization‌‌‌‌.‌‌‌‌ In‌‌‌‌ this‌‌‌‌ research,‌‌‌‌ using‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ case‌‌‌‌ study‌‌‌‌ research‌‌‌‌ method,‌‌‌‌ focusing‌‌‌‌ on‌‌‌‌ eighteen‌‌‌‌ projects‌‌‌‌ in‌‌‌‌ research‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ technology‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ National‌‌‌‌ Iranian‌‌‌‌ Oil‌‌‌‌ Company,‌‌‌‌ a‌‌‌‌ model‌‌‌‌ for‌‌‌‌ commercialization‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ technological‌‌‌‌ projects‌‌‌‌ within‌‌‌‌ this‌‌‌‌ organizational‌‌‌‌ unit‌‌‌‌ is‌‌‌‌ presented‌‌‌‌.‌‌‌‌ The‌‌‌‌ results‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ this‌‌‌‌ study‌‌‌‌ showed‌‌‌‌ that‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ model‌‌‌‌ Technology‌‌‌‌ commercialization‌‌‌‌ in‌‌‌‌ multidimensional‌‌‌‌ research‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ technology‌‌‌‌ organizations‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ has‌‌‌‌ four‌‌‌‌ elements:
Stages‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ activities‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ commercialization,‌‌‌‌ intra-organizational‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ extra-organizational‌‌‌‌ stakeholders‌‌‌‌ as‌‌‌‌ well‌‌‌‌ as‌‌‌‌ role-playing‌‌‌‌ factors‌‌‌‌ inside‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ outside‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ organization‌‌‌‌ affect‌‌‌‌ the‌‌‌‌ process‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ technology‌‌‌‌ commercialization‌‌‌‌.‌‌‌‌ The‌‌‌‌ commercialization‌‌‌‌ process‌‌‌‌ also‌‌‌‌ includes‌‌‌‌ five‌‌‌‌ main‌‌‌‌ stages‌‌‌‌ or‌‌‌‌ steps‌‌‌‌ of‌‌‌‌ commercialization‌‌‌‌ that‌‌‌‌ in‌‌‌‌ each‌‌‌‌ commercialization‌‌‌‌ step,‌‌‌‌ ten‌‌‌‌ activities‌‌‌‌ can‌‌‌‌ be‌‌‌‌ done,‌‌‌‌ among‌‌‌‌ which,‌‌‌‌ resource‌‌‌‌ allocation‌‌‌‌ activities,‌‌‌‌ instructions‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ regulations,‌‌‌‌ knowledge‌‌‌‌ documentation‌‌‌‌ and‌‌‌‌ legal‌‌‌‌ cases‌‌‌‌.‌‌‌‌ And‌‌‌‌ contracting‌‌‌‌ is‌‌‌‌ much‌‌‌‌ more‌‌‌‌ important‌‌‌‌ than‌‌‌‌ other‌‌‌‌ activities
